A character designed as a contribution towards a dear friend's collaborative narrative development project revolving around monsters and hunters.

With cultural influences from the Mediterranean, such as the 'Evil Eye' (Mati in Greek, Nazar in Turkish). The red rope/string attached to an 'Evil Eye' symbolises protection, red rope is also a symbol of strength and power. Within Algernon's monster hunting guild, the undead are deemed to have no soul, and are unworthy of bearing coloured ropes. As such, when Algernon becomes a vampire, he no longer wears red rope, replacing it instead with white, which symbolises to others within his guild that he is a monster now, and that they may attempt to mercy kill him. Tragic, really.
